I AM THE SEC
Director • Director of Photography • Editor • Colorist
The SEC’s Human Resources division approached the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Office of Public Affairs with a goal of creating video content that could be distributed across social media platforms to increase visibility for the agency’s careers page and strengthen recruitment outreach.
Rather than producing a traditional corporate recruiting video, I proposed a more human-centered creative direction: a series of cinematic short-form profile pieces that would put real SEC employees front and center, giving the agency a more authentic and relatable voice.
I developed the original concept for the I AM THE SEC series, serving as the primary creative liaison between Human Resources and the Office of Public Affairs throughout the project. I led the creative strategy from initial pitch through execution, creating the story concepts, visual approach, and storyboards for a three-video campaign designed to highlight the people and purpose behind the agency.
The creative goal was to move beyond institutional messaging and instead focus on personal storytelling — showcasing the passion, professionalism, and diversity of employees working across the SEC. By combining cinematic visuals with authentic employee perspectives, the videos helped position the agency as mission-driven, modern, and people-focused.
I directed, shot, edited, and color graded the project, crafting a polished documentary-style aesthetic that elevated the campaign beyond standard government communications content.
