The Brief

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sought to expand the reach of its public communications by developing a podcast series that could present complex financial and regulatory topics in a more accessible, conversational, and engaging format.

As part of that initiative, I was tasked with creating a polished visual identity and production style for the Podcast — transforming a traditional audio-driven format into a cinematic, visually engaging multimedia experience optimized for digital and social platforms.

I led the project's visual production from end to end, serving as director, cinematographer, lighting designer, editor, motion graphics designer, and animator. The challenge was to create a professional and modern presentation that elevated the podcast beyond a standard interview setup while maintaining credibility and clarity appropriate for a federal agency audience.

The production approach combined cinematic lighting, carefully composed interview framing, dynamic editing, and custom motion graphics to reinforce key topics and maintain viewer engagement. Motion design elements were developed to visually support discussions around financial markets, regulation, and investor education while creating a cohesive visual brand for the series.

A major focus of the project was accessibility — translating highly technical subject matter into content that felt approachable, contemporary, and engaging for broader audiences across YouTube and social media channels.
